Default ReaChorder, Python, Tkinter etc

Hi!

Desperately I tried to get ReaChorder to work on my OSX 10.13.x.
Taking into account all of the Threads on the forum regarding that Topic(s),
I badly fail to get Python and / or Tkinter to work.
Has anybody been able to get it to a working state on mac?
I really would love to use the "Band-in-a-Box" composing functionality on my mac.

Thanks a lot in advance for every help!

With best regards,
HoJo

Which python have you installed and how?

I've had problems with some links not pointing to the right version. Also, I didn't realise utilities like pip had a python 2 and a python 3 version. That leads to completely false error messages, sending me on a search for a solution to an error that wasn't there.

Cyrano, thanks for your reply!

You mean to say, you got it to working state?

If so: Can you remember what Python version that was?

Bump

OK, meanwhile I can run the Python/Tkinter test from Idle / geany successfully.

But, if I run the ReaChorder Script out of Reaper, I am shown "py" is an unknown extension. Might it be, only 2.7 is a Python version which is supported by Reaper on mac (due to May Python restrictions?)

Can somebody, maybe, but please point me to
-some combination of Python/Tkinter *.dmgs that
-are meant to be used with my 10.13 and
-ideally show some settings for the ReaScript/Python paths, dylibs etc?)

I am lost, the ReaChorder is such a treasure. Even porting it to some other (working) scripting language would be fine.

Thanks a lot.
with best regards,
HoJo

I am currently running python 2.7 and 3.7. And that seems to work with Reaper 5.984/64 on El Capital.

Cyrano,
by any chance, can you probably share a snapshot of your settings?
Do you remember what dmgs or installers you have used?
Did you need to install Tkinter on its own?

I am very thankful for every hint or comment pointing me one step further.

Unfortunately, the MB I'm usually using is out.

And the one I use atm won't do you any good, as it's a new bare install that hasn't been used yet. No SWS, no scripts. I noticed when I looked at the python versions installed...
