Default ReaTune - issues with manual correction

I'm at the end of a project and a bit annoyed with ReaTune. I upgraded from Reaper 4 to Reaper 5, as I had issues with a VST and heard that they work better with R5. All went swimmingly, but then I noticed that some of the vocals were horribly off. It turned out that all of the manual pitch corrections were of by about a half-measure.
So I corrected all that. Then I realised that I needed some empty lead time for a couple of the songs and inserted 1 couple of empty bars at the beginning. Every single envelope was moved properly, only the manual pitch corrections were out by exatly the amount of measures I moved to project.

So, apart from the obvious to either sing better or get a better singer, is there a way to prevent this? I guess I'm not going to update again anytime soon, but the other one is actually something that might happen more often, as long as we don't have "negative" bars in Reaper.

freeze the vocal track up to ReaTune in the fx chain. Then you can insert time.

Thanks for the quick reply - what exactly do you mean by "up to ReaTune in the fx chain"?

When you've finished using Reatune select Item "Apply track FX as new take then delete the old take. Reatune is now part of your item.
