Default Solved - Keyboard that works in dual role.

Is there a keyboard that works stand alone and as midi keyboard.

Many synthesizers (analogue and digital), workstations and digital pianos can act as USB MIDI controllers, if that's what you are asking?

Many MIDI controllers have MIDI ports and can be used with synthesizer modules without their own keyboards too.

Also as an alternative Native Instruments make MIDI controllers that have their own little screen to allow you to control VSTs away from the computer screen. This makes the controller act as a form of pseudo workstation.

If I understand you right, then yes. In fact I would guess a very large percentage of modern keyboards have on board sounds as well as MIDI capability. In particular I would think that "digital pianos" for instance all have good quality piano (and probably organ/harpsichord etc?) sounds as well as MIDI.
