older Layla20 MIDI ports not recognized

Seems an older Layla20 card I have from Echo is not having the MIDI ports recognized by Reaper. After setting up the MIDI devices...clicking enable, apply... a pop up window says "error in recognizing the Layla20 midi input/outputs"

Too old a card?

is "error in recognizing the Layla20 midi input/outputs" the exact text? Can you make me a screenshot?
