MAC suddenly stopped detecting bcf2000

I just bought my first mac and am in the process of switching my entire setup with reaper over. I am a LONG time user on the windows platform. I was setting up my bcf to follow track visibility by way of holding down the second button on the top row from the left. this is the first step to setting up the bcf according to the youtube videos about it. I never got to the second step. upon reboot i was notified that there was an error opening my control surface. Now the mac wont detect the bcf at all. I have tried factory resetting it according to every step i could find via google. nothing has worked so far.

I LOVED THE BCF AS A CONTROL SURFACE IN REAPER ON WINDOWS. If I cant get this thing to work It will uproot my whole plan to switch to mac because the bcf functioning is beyond crucial to me on reaper.

PLEASE I AM BEGGING. HELP.
