Default How do I add an EXT to a reaper project that is missing one?

I have a demo project I was working on and my PC cut out. I named the project. I imported a few media files THEN my PC was unplugged. So the project wasn't fully saved. I actually see it it in recent projects but when I open it - it say error file has no extension'. Just wondering - Is there anyway to just add the extension so Reaper can actually install the project? It is just missing the ".RPP" any ideas? thanks in advance.

Make a backup and just test adding the .RPP to the projectfile.

also look for the backup file if this option is enabled and compare it to the last save.
$ diff -u <project.RPP-bak> <last_partially_saved_file>

You can manualy look inside these files for discrepancies
$ cat <your file> | less

however to answer your question
$ cp <your_file> <your_file.RPP>

or any GUI filemanager installed - right click and look for rename option..

Thanks for your reply! Yes i looked in the reaper folder - documents etc. There is a 'project' I added the .RPP but to no avail. There is also a bak. The file itself looks OK. In the DAW it does not show the .RPP file - the extension is listed a "..." In the Reaper Documents it does show it as .RPP file (maybe in just the file name? this could be the problem?) The Reaper DOC reads like this <REAPER_PROJECT 0.1 "5.95/linux64" 1610238133

it goes on to show the tracks and settings etc.

SO to reiterate: The file looks correct... The extension is NOT changed in DAW. The .RPP is is correct and can be seen in the Reaper DOC file... so I imagine it has to be set in the DAW - but this can not be done be the project file is UN-OPENABLE in the DAW... other ideas ? hmmmmm

It says 'UNKNOWN VOLUME' in the REAPER DOC file - maybe no recourse?

Default SOLVED

OK I got it fixed. Here is what happened: somehow I hit (when saving the project) clipped the period just be saving and exiting. So the project file had 2 periods instead on 1. [so the name was "xsong..RPP" and the DAW saved it verbatim; but when I go to open it it fails because the DAW CAN NOT READ THE EXTENSION.] I went into my home REAPER DOC folder dragged it to desktop (or where ever) and changed the error. [changed it from "..RPP" to ".RPP" extension. Then I started Reaper and then opened the file from the desktop not the Reaper Media DOC folder. Reaper is awesome.
