Default Pointer Lock under KDE Plasma Wayland

When clicking on a fader and holding it down KDE Plasma Wayland engages pointer lock which forces the user the hold down ESC for three seconds for the pointer to be released. According to people this is because programs themselves request this. What is your opinion on this? My opinion on pointer lock is that it is worthless in any way I can think of and causes major disrupts in the workflow.

I have no opinion on this as I haven't tried it. From what people tell me kde/plasma/wayland is still not ready for production work. Still that sounds like a pita... Is there no way to disable it?

The, sorry that I have to use this phrasing, STUPID thing is not something you can disable. I can not believe they implemented a feature that can cause this much problem and can not be disabled. It seems that the problem has existed since at least Plasma 5.10 and that is quite a while ago.
