Default Forum Moderators: How about a new catergory in the Forum? Instructional Videos?

Over the past few weeks, there's been a TON of videos released by a bunch of folks- some very, very good stuff. The issue I see is that they get buried in the middle of threads, and they're difficult to find.

I'm wondering if there's any stomach from the mods here to create a separate forum category/area for people to post nothing but links to instructional vids?

I would add that if this is done, it might be a good idea to close off posting threads against the entries of videos- the only reason I say that is that some of them will go off-topic quickly, and that might devalue the effort- but that's just my opinion.

Anyway- what do the mods think of this idea? Am I nuts?

I would myself prefer section on the web pages for that... but yeah... something has to be done for the fragmentation of the information and useful stuff across the forums... it's not a good place to store them permanently :/

Here are 65 videos not in the stickies

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...E3D1858432F63B

And there are 117 videos on my site from myself and others.

Between the website, youtube, email newsletter, twitter, facebook and being active on the forum I don't know what else I can do to get these videos in front of eyeballs.

Good idea. I was searching Youtube yesterday for interesting Reaper videos, and I still didn't find quite a few of those that I sometimes stumble over in posts. Would be good to have a place for people to post their instructional videos.

Some of the video stickies in the Q&A forum will be unstuck soon. I'd like to suggest collecting links to your own videos/tutorials in a separate thread, then post the link to your thread(s) here:

http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=166004

Maybe in a short, descriptive form like...

Author|Content Description|Link

E.g.

SomeGuy|General tutorial collection|Link
