Default recommend me a TRUSTED download for converting WAV to MP3

Hi guys

can you recommend me a FREE TRUSTED download for converting WAV to MP3 ?

i have a WAV of a project that i wanted to upload to soundclick but i need to convert it to MP3..

Now here is the tricky part lol,,it needs to be IDIOT proof as many of you know i am not computer savvy..

i downloaded a few but some of them will only convert a small amount of time unless i pay for it, also one of the downloads must have had a browser hijacker and now i`m left with piece of crap that i`ve been trying for the last couple of days to remove without any success its called "ABOUT BLANK" i`ve been going round in circles trying to get rid of this sh1t and of course it doesn`t help that i`m not computer savvy..

Any help is greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

Yep...Reaper will do it, but you need to download the LAME deal from the Reaper site to make it work.

But...in the meantime, here is the free one that I use. What I like about it is you can go into the options and type in the name of the album and the singers name and the year. And that info will insert itself in every song you convert until you change it.

Default Yes, you can.

All you need is to install the "free" Lame Encoder, which you can download easily, and place inside Reaper.

Then, when it's time to render something, just choose to render as an MP3.

Hang tight, I am looking for all this info for ya. (Yeah, I guess I am bored.)

Default Alright guys....

..I don't see where he can safely download the LAME MP3 Codec. Also, where exactly does he install it? Been so long ago I installed it, I've forgotten!

You know, Sharky50, now that I think about it, this info is probably in the "free" Reaper Owners Manual, you can download for "free", on the download page of this forum.

Default Here is one place you can get it....

http://aegiscorp.free.fr/lame/

And, straight from the "free" manuals mouth:

Windows users should copy the file lame_enc.dll into their REAPER Program directory, which by default will C:\Program Files\REAPER. It can also be copied to other applications that may need it (e.g. Audacity).

Just use either Windows Media Player on PC or iTunes on Mac or PC.

Both are already on every computer. Free. Done.
