Damn I did get excited there for a moment

I'm not sure if you know this yet but since Waves dropped ilok you can create an account and demo any plug for 7 days with a local license. If that makes it easier to bug fix

Default # Continuous scrolling: improvements, text rendering bugfixes

This is working great so far with a quick test! thanks!

But,

one thing I've noticed is my play cursor flickers when the arrange is not scrolling (regardless of scrolling being on or off) but as soon as it starts actually scrolling my play cursor stops flickering.

I had this before this update but got use to it until I say it stop flickering and thought "that's nice!"

I'm certain custom cursor is turned off too, anyone else getting this?

This] bug still exists:

When using actions to move envelope points down/up a bit and scrolling BPM in transport, tempo envelope breaks timebase rules.

Ruler is also behaving funky when changing tempo:

MBN... i'm on XP so reaper 32 bit of course and a fairly wimppy system.. and I do have a custom them and do have the play cursor set up as a 2px wide shade of yellow

but I don't see any 'flickering' of the play cursor at anytime... either during play nor while paused... but it might be hard for me to see since the edit cursor is set to two alternating colors... [think sort of a red and blue] so that of course blinks between those colors...[ which makes it easy for me to see]

any help?

"pre15" crashes my PPC when I set a tempo change.

Tried at a few different locations. Crashed it 3 times.

Yeah, looks like it's giving it UTF-8 encoded data, but I guess DDP needs ANSI.

On win7 x64 too. Insert an 3/4 time signature at the beginning of a new project. "APPCRASH"

Even margins are fixed, however only for the default part. Minimal,Reduced, Big Meter and Vertical layout margins are the same as previous build. I guess that's all that's left to correct.

Confirmed. My cursor flickers even when continuous scrolling is enabled but far less.
The flicker with continuos scrolling turned on get's worse with higher zoom levels.

v4.23pre15a - June 18 2012
+ AU: possible fix for Waves loading crashes
# Tempo envelope: fix for crash when inserting the first tempo marker (bug introduced in pre15)

The crash is gone but the behavior isn't right.

Inserting a 3/4 time sig marker gives 1st bar with 2 beats starting at beat 3 and the time sig marker isn't visible and the time sig isn't changed.

Thanks, many bugs were fixed on this one.

One question, why are items labels darker while scrolling? It looks odd.

Also, labels aren't visible when items edges aren't visible, is this by design?

This one hasn't been fixed yet:

Oh, there's another one. Let's say I'm listening to my song, click on an item and the scrolling stops, OK, I can hit ' and go to play cursor, but now let's say I don't hit ' and just move my edit cursor to start scrollinh again but it doesn't do it, why? Shouldn't REAPER start scrollin again if I move my edit cursor to the far right?

From my perspective, If I've stopped the scrolling to do some editing, I don't want it to start scrolling again until I tell it specifically. I might want to edit something to the far right...

Good point. You're right. In fact, on a second thought, I think I'd listen to what I edited instead of continue the scrolling.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I just tried to insert some markers at current position while recording on a project that's using around 20% of my CPU and Ithe project froze everytime I inserted a marker. It's just a 1 sec or less thing but in one of those opportunities I got a glitch on the recording. Any chance to improve this?

Thanks!

NumPad 2/8 (action) needs fixing regarding changing relative and consolidates undo. (Tempo-points)

Shift + drag Time-sig is still wired if the previous points are linear.

Tempo-points snap is beat and not snap-setting (fix please)

Region move with tempo-points and time-signatures looks better than when I previously checked. But a lot work to do there to get everything right.

Now that we can do nifty stuff with knobs...

(slightly hastily done example knobs, the part to look at are the indicator rings):

I really dig how pan and width can sort of indicate what they are doing to the signal .

...it would be good to change things so that in dual pan mode both knobs use the pan knob images. As of now right pan uses the width knob images, which now fit less than ever to the thing they do

Continuous Scrolling is still glitchy. The arrange view moves smoothly, but pauses momentarily(for a very brief period) every bar or so.

Can anybody confirm? Win7 32bit and 64bit. Reaper32bit.

This is an absolute must.

As an aside. How did you get the knobs to not show the old ones or the gen ones behind them? I'm getting this with vol/pan/wid but not the others.

A quick lunchtime test and all of the previously crashing AU's loaded successfully without issue. I'll do some deeper testing tonight but on the surface this all looks good.

Thanks

Dare I ask what the issue was (It'll be beyond my understanding but I'm curious )

Some kind of bug when turning first tempo marker into a time-sig change, the marker disappears:

You can also reproduce by simply inserting a new time-sig change marker at start of project.

I've found a work-around to this though, insert the time-sig change marker on the 3rd beat. It then creates time-sig markers on the first and second measure.

In general, I'm finding the new tempo mapping stuff slower and finickier then previous methods. What might help are:
1. Option to have time-sig markers NOT auto-insert/remove measures while dragging
2. Option for normal tempo-markers to stretch the grid
3. Option to have the following tempo markers NOT change time-position in project (so, click-dragging adjust current and previous marker)
4. An action to insert a time-sig marker with defaults (no popup)
