SWS Help Please!
I understand I need to post in SWS, and I have, but please help soon if possible, I looked and looked, but need help.
Okay, I downloaded and now I have no extensions. But I did the download, and the sws extensions are in the Reaper folders. Did BOTH 32 AND 64! Got 'em in the correct directories.
Now I can't even use ANY SWS extensions, OR, custom actions (grayed out).
I just want to get the old stuff back even if I can't use the new.
When I try to install SWS, the extensions dll is GRAYED OUT!
HELP!!!
Windows7 64bit

What comes to mind is do you have the right version of SWS to your version of Reaper?
Try removing the versions you don't need.

What does it mean that "the DLL is greyed out"? Where is this?
When you download SWS you get an exe file, which you run to install.
Do you have a portable install of Reaper? You need to point the SWS installer to your Reaper directory. Here, on my W7x64 installation running portable install of 32-bit Reaper, I have reaper_sws.dll in the REAPER\Plugins directory (note that this is a dir in the same dir where reaper.exe is, it is NOT your VST plugin dir).
And as Gerry says, make sure you use the 32-bit SWS install for 32-bit Reaper, and 64-bit SWS for 64-bit Reaper.

Actually have BOTH versions of Reaper as I use many older VST's.
I ran BOTH installs, and made sure they went to the correct locations.
Not portable install.

Which version of SWS and which version of Reaper? I mean version numbers, not whether or not it is 32 or 64bit.

Older version of Reaper
Maybe this was it. I was using an older version of Reaper because of an arpeggiator that wouldn't work with newer vers.
Thanks to all who tried to help.

I'm having the same issue as Studio Tan. I recently reformatted my computer, installed Reaper 5.01 64 bit and downloaded sws v2.8.0.0 x64. The Extension DLL box is not able to be checked. Could VSTs be an issue? I have not installed any new ones since I formatted, and Reaper ran flawlessly before.

This means that that the Extension.dll file will be installed and is required by the program (not optional).
If you are running an older version of Reaper you may need to run an older copy of the SWS extensions. The latest SWS version 2.80 is for Reaper 5.
Hope this helped.

Everything bluzkat said. It's grayed out because there would be no reason to run the installer if you were not going to install the extension since installing the extension is what the installer is for. If you installed into the main reaper directory and reaper wasn't running when you did it, I suspect it should show up if a suitable version.
Is this a regular or portable install?

Thank you Bluzkat and Karbomusic. You were right. Never thought about it being not optional. Thanks again.
