Default Outputting MIDI clock with Korg Volca (to sync tempo)

This may have been answered before. Apologies if so. I have a

-Korg Volca, running audio out from 3.5mm to a focusrite scarlet.
-I also have a MIDI to USB cable going into my laptop from the Volca's MIDI IN slot.

What exactly do I do in Reaper to enable the Volca to sync with tempo in a project?

Any advice gratefully received, Thanks!!

I assume the usb to midi cable shows up as an output midi device…

In options/preferences/midi devices:
Right click on the output midi device and select “send clock to output”

Create a track 1
Routing: select the midi cable as midi device under midi hardware output
I make this a midi track and put my midi sequence on it. I believe i also use it to start a pattern on the volca but can’t remember.

Create a track 2
Select focusrite as audio input device
Select output - audio mono or stereo

Arm track 2 and record.

Once done recording unselect “send clock to output”

It’s been a while since i’ve done this with my volcas; hope i am not missing anything. It really has been a long time so i might be confused whether the volcas accept clock or not. I have the volca drum and keys.

I know for sure i have set the bpm on the drum to match reaper - synced the drum to the keys to drive its bpm and then recorded one and then the other into reaper.

I seem to also recall syncing them to reaper. I’ll try it again when i get a chance. Best i can tell googling is that it does work but midi sync on the volca should be set to auto, which should be default.
