Default Tested: The benefits of Hyper-Threading and overclocking on Intel i9-10900K

Hey everyone,

I have performed a little test out of my own curiosity regarding my computer and its core speeds and what not. I wanted to see if I was headed the right way about this, to make sure I was getting the most out of my computer. Over the years, I have seen here and there that some people say you should turn off Hyper-Threading and that Intel default settings for the CPU is as good as overclocking, i.e., that overclocking doesn't yield any benefits etc.

So I tested it out using DAWBench 2017 and you can check out the Reddit post for the details!

TLDR; Overclocking is better than default CPU settings and HT makes quite a difference in audio work!

Nice tests! Data always trumps feeling and emotions for sure. Can’t beat more gigahertz!
