Tip: Show Folder Indent
I use a lot of folders and found that I was sometimes screwing up my entire mix by accidentally hitting the folder indent button and not seeing what I did. Another fine user showed me how to simply draw something in my "folder_indent.png" and get a great indicator. I simply drew a yellow 1 pixel wide vertical line and that did it for me.
I hope it helps someone else too. I really like this ability to see indent levels.
This file is found in your unzipped theme. For me it is in:
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\ColorThemes \Default_4.0_unpacked

yeah... helpful idea...
sadly there is a long standing bug in WALTER regarding the png file that designates the last track in a folder...
Cubic13 has documented this but it has never been fixed... [DEV's wtf?]
I have a theme that uses a folder start png, a 'next' folder for however many are in the nest, and then another png for the end.. but very sadly the 'last' or end does not work [bug]...so we had to modify the theme to just not use that png.... bummer to me cuz it was quite a bit of graphic work to get all those very special pngs to look right.
here is a picture of how we had to not use the last track png...

This is one of the best tweaks I have ever made to Reaper. Try it guys if you use folders

Done, Good tweak. This should be a Reaper standard.

I agree. I'm glad you liked it ! It's too easy to indent wrong and have all the audio borked. This makes it a glance away to verify.

You just need to make png's for the Start and End folders.
It's a customized WT v4 Imperial theme that is now a V5 theme.

Are you using a version 6 theme?
I'm on version 6 but using my theme, which I like better.
Don't care for the theme adjuster, I do not need it.
Should be folder_start, folder_indent & folder_end png's
keep trying, also check the rtconfig file as well.
Just don't give up......

Yeah! I did the same thing years ago, for Reaper 4 and I'm still using that theme. I could not do without it.

I modified all three of those files but nothing changes. I did not have to modify rtconfig before either. Does anyone know how to get this working in the 6 Universe ?

It appears that in the version 6 theme the file name are track_folder_*.png
but just changing the images did not work, I'm sure that changes need to be done in the rtconfig file.
Sorry, I will not be able to help you any further, I'm not a programmer, just a person that is able to (What I call) a hack to the code to get what I want.
it's just not the "png" that need changing but also the "rtconfig" file as well.

This original thread was a tip about how to make it work in 4. Now I'm trying to make it work with version 6 default theme please.

I figured it was probably that.
Will give it a little testing, to see what I get.
I do know this, you need to play around with the image until you get it working. The pink lines will mostly need to be adjusted.
Also now that I remember, you should not need to mess with the rtconfig. For a version 6 theme, I do not know?

Me too because then align controls in the theme adjuster would work with it.
