I have tested this pre, but the change is in the previous one:

+ ARA: better handling when copying multiple items with different edits that share the same source media [t=237563]

Although, this pre fixes the bug reported here , it breaks the fix that was done there. So, undoing and redoing does not bring back the changes. Could there be a way to have both fixes, or are we in a situation that we must choose one behavior over the other?

Yes, this one.. but it can't be reproduced straight away.. I'll try to investigate and see what other steps are needed and post back.

The first edit/delete/undo in the gif retains the edits but the second one doesn't not. I didn't check to see if it happens because the second edit is at the end of the item, or because it is an edit greater than the first one (not enough undo buffers so only one undo can be retained?).
