Default M-Audio Code49 Transport quesion

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me out. I have been using Pro Tools and in the last couple of weeks I decided I'd try out Reaper. I have Reaper 6.13 installed on Windows 10 and all is working so far.

However, I'm having a problem getting the Transport controls on my CODE49 working properly. For example, when I hit the Play button on the CODE49 a Midi Channel 1 Note 94 is generated. I can add this to the Action List and all works perfectly except that when I hit the high Bb on the actual playing keys a MIDI Channel 1 Note 94 is rightfully also generated and the note is played AND Reaper starts playing the project. Obviously, this is no use. Especially since the Record button generates MIDI Channel 1 Note 95 which could lead to a recording session starting just by playing a note on the keyboard.

Is there a way to get around this? Ideally, I'd like the CODE49 to be generating it's transport MIDI codes on a different channel but is there a way to configure Reaper to tell the difference between when a transport button is pressed and when a note is played?

Forgive me if this has been answered before but this is my first post here.

Thanks.

Isn't there an editor for the Code 49 to allow you to change the control messages for each control?
