One thing's for sure, hauling gear sucks!!!
Wait... This is like one guy auditioning people to put together an entire band?
Auditioning for a front person singer even? Maybe find out if he's been doing that forever and never has a steady band. I don't want to stereotype but... I don't have to say any more right?

I know the guy you are talking about Serr!!!

Met up with his "band" twice and it was different people trying out both times. I let him know I didn't think I was going to be a fit, but then a month later I get an email from him saying he is putting a band together . . .

This guy has an ENORMOUS collection of guitars, and I mean rows and rows of expensive things like a few Ernie Ball Silhouettes grouped together, yet he spins his wheels and never actually gets anything done.

There's one in every town's Craigslist right?

Could still be a stepping stone for someone destined for greater things though.

The guy I dealt with got my number from another guitarist I had worked with a few times in the past. The guitarist who gave him my number called me about a month after that wanting me to join his band. I did and we started playing for money a month after some rehearsals. A year later and I gracefully bowed out.

I've played enough live gigs for one lifetime, but will come out and sit in on someone else's drums who doesn't mind setting them up and tearing them down twice and waiting till 3:00am to get paid.

I'm not sure what happened with his last band, didn't want to pry. They were together for quite awhile and had regular gigs at a number of places in town.

Truth is, for now anyway, I'm perfectly fine with just getting together on a regular basis and just playing music. If we never do a gig, that's fine with me as long as all involved are having a good time.

I want to once again thank everybody for their suggestions and support.
