Default Using two DAWs

I've been experimenting with Presonus Studio One and I do like it a lot. But I have that on Windows 10. I have Reaper on Windows 8.1.

I could install Reaper (I imagine I could) on Windows 10 that way I wouldn't have to set up a dual boot configuration or swap drives.

I was just wondering if any of you guys have two DAWs on your computer.

I would also like to know if any of you have experimented with other DAWs and found something that you liked.

I've spent a lot of time learning to use Logic Pro X over the last few years. It's an incredible value at $200 in my opinion, and there are some really great things about it. The new sampler, the pattern based midi editor, the compressor and graphic eq, the space designer reverb, and all the instruments and sounds it comes with.

I still find myself coming back to reaper though, as I prefer to the editing and mixing features in reaper a lot more.

No problem at all. DAWs do not interfere with each other.
I am using REAPER, Harrison Mixbus, and Cubase on my Windows PC.

If you have installed third-party plugins, you can use these plugins in each DAW.
This is very convenient.

The bigger question is why you are running 8.1.
Anyway, no, I often use Ableton to write before I get serious and move to Reaper. Ableton is great for quick sketches of ideas, arranging, demos, etc. Reaper is (for me) actual work.

I love Windows 8.1. For me it is a rock solid operating system. Although right now I am running Windows 10. I have Windows 8.1 saved on backup images.

I have Reaper, Cubase Pro and Pro Tools Ultimate on my Windows 10 computer. No issues, I can even run them all at the same time (yes, even Pro Tools, not the world's most forgiving program).

I have Reaper, Adobe Audition and a free version of Protools on here as well as Da Vinci Resolve and a few other audio and video programs. None of them interfere with each other and, if you set things up correctly, you can even have them running at the same time (although not necessarily accessing the same audio interface and the same files at the exactly same time).
