Default Render items/tracks with import - retain track position and color?

Hi all - When I render an item/time selection/track and I check the box so that the rendered file is imported onto a new track I'd like the new to track(s) to appear next to the one(s) I rendered it from, if it could retain color settings that would be great too.

Any one know how to make this happen?

Cheers!

That would need scripts. Two examples which you could check here:
Scripts for render ("Bounce in place")
Render a track to same colour as original

Thanks Xpander... don't know how I missed these... I was aware of Heda's excellent track inspector but somehow overlooked the rendering options.

I'm using a bunch of scripts already, but some of my required rendering options need to be done via the main rendering dialog or it's presets, so I was hoping there was some kind of action I could 'tack on' to any existing render action within a custom action, to move the track into place and colour it. Doesn't seem to be the case unfortunately... however these workarounds seem great, I'll definitely be looking into them. An option for this in the main render dialog would be nice... perhaps a FR is in order.
