cut an item sometimes cuts other items

Hello

I didn't understand the logic behind the cuts of items.

Sometimes, I click on an item, and press S to cut it, it cuts other items below that item.
I must press ctrl+Z and then reselect the item, and try again.

I don't understand when it does that.
No, the items are not grouped

Do you have any clue ?

If no item is selected, it splits ALL items. Is that what happened?

Make sure you select the track(s) you want sliced prior to pressing S.

Hey! You're right! I didn't notice that OK, now I understand. I used to select a track and thought that when clicking S it would only cut the items on that track at the cursor position.
The reaper way is pretty weird but I think I'm gonna get used to that
