Spacey, odd-metered jazz-ish piece with a slow build but worth the minute wait. Clean, smooth and melodic. Thoughts? https://soundcloud.com/fictionalsubstance/weightless

Great song man! This may be my fave of your work thus far.

I love the fast beats thrown in, and the analog synth fade back into mellow. And of course classy guitar playing and recording.

like the intro, encapsulates the title beautifully.

cln guitars are nice and crisp, mid-rangy.. really cut through.

love the separation of the mix. nicely done. you can really hear everything well.

i might temper down the 2 and 4 "click" from percussion. rimshot? i might consider reducing it in both volume and a high freq that seems to be poking through. just a little distracting.

love the composition change around 3:00. mature. nice departure.

one other thought i'd like to share, totally subjective and personal on my part - but i wonder what it'd sound like if you pulled back on your tone knob a bit on the lead guitar parts. ever do that? i've been experimenting with that a lot lately. it makes the sound 'duller' and not so "biting" (for lack of a better word), similar to some of Metheny's stuff - or George Benson on occasion. Gives some variety from the rhythms and establishes a distinct voice for the lead. Just wondering..

another very well thought-out and executed song my friend. impressive! you really have a talent for this genre!

Thanks for your ears and comments. Mark, where were you when I was recording this??? I need to dump stuff on you before I hit the commit button. I re-recorded these guitar parts on several different occasions before I was happy. I will cut back on the snare sound. I was experimenting a bit with some automated eq modulation. As far as guitar tone goes, sometimes I play all the way on the "bassy" end. This time not so much with mid pickup selection, tone up, and brand new strings. I get so caught up in melody and rhythm that I totally neglect timbre sometimes. I may go back and mix it up a bit to separate verse from chorus. Thanks for your input.
