Default " toggle track zoom to maximum height" behaviour?

Can anyone explain the behaviour of " toggle track zoom to maximum height" (shit + ~) to me?

I somehow assumed that it will maximize the selcted track. And while it sometimes does that, some other times (the majority actually), it just picks one unselected track, somewhere in the middle (and from then on, always this one, no matter which track I select!).

So my questions are:

1) What is the intended behaviour of this shortcut/action? I cannot see a consistend funcitonality there...

2) How can I make this shortcut to maximize the selected track?

Thanks is andvance

I don't know but I am using a cycle action with

_SWS_VZOOMFITMIN
step
_SWS_UNDOZOOM

it works well for me.

I think you might be on to something here.

On my trusty old tower PC running Windows XP, this action works exactly as it is supposed to.

But on my Windows 8 laptop it behaves as you describe.

So...this is a bug? Shall I report it in the tracker then?
