Default Can I copy a project to another Reaper project?

I'm wanting to experiment with Folders, Busses and VCA's per Kenny's video and was wondering how to copy an entire project (create an exact copy) in another project. I just don't want to take a chance in screwing up the original.

Edit: this is a large project with over 50 tracks.

Thanks in advance.

the only way I'd think of to do it safely is:

Use Save as to make a new copy of the project you want to save into.
check the first two boxes at the bottom for it's own directory and copy media...
I'll call this one Project Bigger for this discussion.
Have that open on a tab in reaper.

On another tab, open the second project, the one you want to add to the Project Bigger...
Make sure the edit cursor is at zero in both tabs...

In the second project select all tracks hit Control+C [copy]
go to the Project Bigger tab and hit Control+V [paste]
When done... remember to Save

IF this works OK for you then you could just do it without the extra Save as, which is just for a 'first time' safety

Hopi, everything worked great except for one curious thing. The audio from the copied file is only coming out on the right side. Any ideas why?

Edit: I figured it out. For some reason all of the tracks on the copied project imported with everything panned right. I'm curious as to why.

Thanks so much for your help.

You can just "create track from template". Choose a .RPP. Bang.

well I can only imagine that you saved the template with the pans set to right...

why that is I don't know but likely an accident...
but of course you can load the template, correct the pans and save and overwrite the template file...
