Default Only some texts are garbled in the Linux version. Why could it be?

Hello〜

I've used Reaper by combining English and Japanese languages since these two are the ones I mainly use. I am currently trying to make an attempt to using Linux native version and I am facing some hurdles here.

One of them is the fact that although I have installed Japanese language packs (both official and one made by a user), I get garbled texts.

Not only that, even if I switch back to the default language which is English, the menu remains garbled (please see one of the attached photos).

So, how do I go about fixing this?

The strange thing is when I load a project I was working on in Windows, track names or marker names are displayed properly in Japanese as expected. However, when I try to type in Japanese, it gets garbled.

Outside of Reaper, I can already type and read in Japanese without any problem, so this is something only happening inside Reaper.

I installed Wine and downloaded the Windows version, installed that using Wine along with Japanese language packs after that and it was working alright. I could both read and type in Japanese as expected.

If anybody is experienced in configuring fonts for foreign languages, especially Asian languages that use Chinese characters, it would be appreciated if you can share your knowledge.

Thank you and have a great day.

Back up all settings before doing this.

1. Action
2. Filter:"dev theme"
3. "Theme development: Show theme tweak/configuration window"
4. Filter:"font"
5. Assign Japanese font to all fonts

However, as far as input is concerned, it does not seem to be possible yet, and it may be necessary to type in an editor and then copy-paste.

- OS: Arch Linux x86_64
- Kernel: 6.7.6-arch1-1
- WM: sway
- reaper: 7.11-1
