Default Arturia Keylab 2 and Reaper

DAW control of Reaper v6.08 by the Arturia Keylab 2 keyboard isn't reliable.
Keeps stopping functioning, losing connection. Anyone had and fixed this problem?

Thanks
Dave

Did you ever solve this problem, Dave? I recently acquired a used Keylab 61 MkII that seems not to want to connect with Reaper through its USB interface. Any ideas? Are you still using your Arturia Keylab?

Default MIDI Inputs could not be opened.

There are so many inconsistencies with the link that I feel like sending the KeyLab 61 back! It's beautifully made, but if it won't join up with my Reaper then there's no point!
Has anybody been able to make a secure connection between the two? If so, how?
I've followed the manual and immediately get the error in the title. Does anything worthwhile ever just plug'n'play?

The problem may not be with the keyboard, it could be the USB cable. I had heaps of trouble with my Roland TD-11 until I finally found the original cable that came with the unit. (I tried 3 different cables before that). It's never dropped out once since.
