using vst's like cubase and kontact komplete 10 pack etc.
Hii guys!
I just bought REAPER and I am so happy with it, a lot of cool stuff and very easy to record my stage piano!
I'm just new here but I already have a question for you guys.
I would like to get on with some nice virtual instruments, steinberg has a pack with a lot of virtual instruments, kontact (native instruments) has also a big soundpack, omnisphere 2 and so on...
Now the question is, before I spend my money on one of these pack's, I would like to know if REAPER can handle this.
Is there something I might need to know about this or can I just buy the vst's and make some awesome music?
Thanks a lot !
greetings Merlijn

Reaper is actually one of the better, more forgiving plugin hosts out there.
FWIW I use Kontakt, UVIPlayer and a bunch of drum and keyboard Romplers from other suppliers.
Have also used East West Play (flaky as hell in every daw I have used) and several others.

Like Ivan said, reapers iron is folded well. Problems that do pop up, usually have something to do with the mashine or plugs. If I were you, use the search option above^^^^ to see others experiences with the plugs your considering.

Hello merlino and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. Make sure that you get the excellent User Guide too:

Yes, and that depends on you.
Wait for the next Native Instruments sale and have a serious look at Komplete (it is much better value than Kontakt alone). You will get enough there to keep you going for years.

Thanks Darkstar!
About Native Instruments, I've already tryed a little with the free pack of Kontact and it could be me, but it seemed to be very hard to work with, because there are so many different files and stuff.. Maybe that will change with the komplete pack because I really believe in the software, but I might need a guide or something
Thanks for the quick reply !

It won't change with Komplete ... just take it slowly, one step at a time. Only learn about something when you need to.

I will
Kontact seems to be not the easiest plugin because there are loads of possibilities.
But I think I'll will give it a go.
I have a Yamaha cp4 stage piano which also works as a beautiful controller
