Default Tempos other than 4/4

Anyone finding that they have to do fractional math to make BPMs correct when doing time signatures other than 4/4?

I do non 4/4 time all the time (pun intended), but I just let the metronome click out 4/4 and then play whatever I want to it.

If I were to need to print out scores this would obviously not work, but my most recent project is more in 6/8 than it is in 4/4 and I didn't worry about REAPER knowing the real framework.

Is there a place to define what a beat is? Default is obviously quarter; changing this might fix OP.

Check out 120 bpm in 4/4 vs 120 bpm in 3/4 and you'll see what I mean

120 BPM at 4/4 is the same as 120 BPM at 3/4 over here... no fractional math?

Yeah, but you're on the other side of the planet.

I just set the metronome or time signature on the project to 1/4 to remove the accent so I can do 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 9/8, 11/8, etc... it's all just quarter notes in the end

Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but are you trying to have a bar of 3/4 last the same period of time as a bar of 4/4? That would require maths.
