Default Can't shortcut FX: Set MIDI learn for last touched FX parameter

Just got a MIDI controller so I've been diving in. First thing I noticed is that its annoying to menu dive the Param button to learn a knob, I'd like to do it thru a shortcut, so I found FX: Set MIDI learn for last touched FX parameter and assigned it to a key.

Unfortunately it just makes the windows 'I can't do that, dave' sound and does nothing. If I run it from the actions menu, it still works.

Bug?

Thanks

I use that action from MIDI controllers constantly. I'd say just make sure it's set to "normal" or "momentary" CC on your controller. I'm on Windows. You can also try ReaLearn if it's giving you problems: https://www.helgoboss.org/projects/realearn/

You probably have the focus in the FX chain window. Did you try clicking on the Reaper main window before trying to press the shortcut?

I think this action has weird behavior. If I touch an FX parameter, then shouldn't the FX window technically be focused? It does not make sense that we have to click the fx window somewhere else to allow the action to be recognized and properly run.
