Reaper Frozen When Trying Opening Project (Initializing...)

Hey guys,

As I try to open a project, Reaper gets stuck "Initializing..." I tried shutting down my computer and restarting. I also just downloaded the latest version but I'm still having the same problem.

Worth trying to open a new project set to factory defaults (one of the "open project" options) just in case it is down to a setting you accidentally changed. Been there. Done that.

And the other classic issue that could be causing this is a plugin that doesn't want to play nice.
Again, in the new factory settings project you opened, try adding in the plugs used in the problem project till the new one breaks.

Ivan might be onto something because i recall an oooold issue with something like this, IF i enabled DX plugins.
And since i dont use 'em, we have the options of turning it off in preferences>rewire/dx>disable DX plug-in scanning.
You can prob untick the whole row there, hope it was that simple.

Try with enabled "Open with FX offline (recovery mode)" (on the open project page) ...
