What Would You Do?
I have a 2019 MacBook Pro...
Presonus AusioBox 96...
Roland FA-06...
Eris E-5 Monitors...
But Then!
I have a Korg D-3200 that is in Perfect shape.
Would you just ditch the D-3200?
Or would you incorporate the D-3200 and keep it in the system?
How would YOU use it as I have no idea how to incorporate it.
It is an amazing box that has many, many great qualities and I wish to add it to the system..
But how?
Any thoughts?

I really love the Korg D-3200 and hate to see it waste away.
Right now I use the MacBook and Reaper.
That system is flawless.
A bunch of Arturia Software and all is good.
I just wish I could come up with a use for the D-3200.

I'm thinking I might just use it to record my practice sessions in case I stumble upon something thats good.
I'm not real sure that there are any other uses.
The midi thing is a good idea but it's really not an issue for me.
I guess why try and fix whats not broke.

get rid of
I would keep the MacBook Pro and get rid of the rest.
The Korg has nice knobs and color lights like a christmas tree substitute, but the features are a bit outdated.
Locators : 4 per song ! Wow you can set 4 different locators within one song, amazing !
give yourself more space in the room and free yourself from cables and gear that is in the way.
Just opinion

So you are for me keeping the D-3200?
It records flawlessly.

I'm gonna keep it and use it to record my practices. 99% of the time that's where I come up with a cool riff only to forget what I did.
That will happen no more.
Any other ideas though are welcome.

lol it sounds like you already knew what you wanted.
I personally find digital multi-track recorders nice for tracking drums. I like to re-engineer the sounds through a complex analog routing, gating feedback, side-chained compression, etc. Much easier to do with the multitrack.

BOOM!
Thats what I will do.
The 3200 has an excellent drum machine on it.
All sounds are customizable!....Heck Yeah!
Thanks for the idea.
I can nail the drums and transfer to reaper.

You might try
Connect the spdif optical output to the optical input of your audio interface then select as a record input in reaper.

Wow Bigtop!
That sounds real cool.
So I would track something on the Korg and it would go into Reaper?
I love Reaper.
This is really interesting.
I just need to figure out if I have the right equipment(cord)

Hi Bigtop.
What would be the benefit to this.
I'm really interested in this idea.
I love experimenting and tweaking things and this really sounds cool.

That's what I would have done. I'm thinking of buying some old portastudio just to be able to record fast and dirty when jamming with my band, or friends, in our rehearsal space.
You won't get much for it anyways, so if you know it well and it works fine, keep it.
I would however try to upgrade that audio interface.

Upgrade from the Presonus Audiobox 96?
What do you suggest I go with?

Sit on it for a year and if you never feel like using it, sell it. I've sold too many things on impulse and regretted it later.

I will keep that in mind also.
So far I'm going to use it for drums and for mobile recording.
Those are all great suggestions and I thank everyone that helped me come to this decision.

I have a Yamaha AW16G - still use it for field recording now and then. Write to disk and then import to Reaper.
Keep it - until you no longer use it.
