ReaEQ (and others) annoyances
1. Graphic glitch, notice how the band type disappears and then reappears:
2. More annoying, and intermittent: notice how, when I go to adjust the band 2 gain, it drops from -2.0 to -2.1 before the mouse even gets there:
Actually I see this more often with band frequency than gain. This is just the one I managed to snare with a LiceCap. I have also seen this bug in ReaXcomp on the threshold sliders.
Reaper is so full of these annoying little bugs (recent example, still not fixed: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...07&postcount=3) that it makes me despair sometimes

I can confirm the "1)" behavior (band type disappearing) in v6.33+dev0729, 32bit (Windows10 x64).

At the moment I can hardly wave a mouse at ReaEq without 2) happening.

Here it is in ReaXcomp. Watch the threshold in Band 2, which slips down before the mouse gets to it:
(To say nothing of the old well-known issue of the white text label backgrounds....)

Clean Reaper installation? No extensions, scripts etc. running? Really?
(Reper version, architecture, OS ?)
I tried to reproduce the ReaEQ and ReaXcomp parameter fader jumps few times already, but it does not happen here. (Reaper v6.33+dev0729, 32bit, Windows10_x64)

This has beeen in Reaper for as long as I can remember (back to about 4.32 or something) so that includes 32 and 64 bit versions with me. Also two different computers and several different mice. Very vanilla installation, just SWS, nothing else fancy, no scripts. Windows 8.1 now and Windows 7 before that.
In fact in that preset the default for Band 2 is -20.0dB, but it seemed that most of the time I went near it, it jumped to -20.1, so I just saved a preset like that because I didn't need the +2dB overall gain!

Hmm can you give me a minimal .rpp file that will do it every time for you? So I can load it up, follow a few simple steps (which you also provide) to reproduce? Thanks!

I don't think (well, I'm almost certain) that it isn't project-specific. It's been around for a long time, and I've worked on lots of projects in that time. It can not happen at all for a while, and then suddenly come back so that I can't point a mouse without it happening.
However, thinking about it, and trying to be more specific, I find it happens in ReaXcomp mostly on the band 2 threshold slider, when using a 3-band set-up; once in a while on band 3, and (I think) never on band 1. This is using the griz: mastering 3 band electro preset.
In ReaEQ, from the factory default settings, it tends to mostly happen on bands 2 and 3 frequency sliders, and gain everywhere (I think, or maybe only the middle bands). I've never seen it happen on the bandwidth slider.
Hopefully this is useful.
I will attach my reaeq and reaxcomp preset .ini files as well.

This might be fixed in 6.38, can you give that a try?

It's still in ReaEQ. Haven't used ReaXcomp, but the odds are that it's still there too.

(edit)
Hmm, after switching tabs on the reaeq/reaxcomp, does the change happen after a short amount of time regardless of mouse movement, or when the mouse passes over the slider, or after a certain amount of mouse movement (not requiring the mouse to go over the slider)? Is it possible the mousewheel is getting bumped?

It's after a certain amount of mouse movement. Keeping the mouse still for a few seconds before moving it *seems* to make it less likely but doesn't stop it altogether
It's funny, but I get the feeling it knows which slider I'm moving towards before I get to it.
I don't think it's mousewheel bump. The fact that it does it only in specific plugins, mostly on a limited set of sliders, and only in one direction (down), argues against that. I do fidget on the mousewheel, but if it was enough to move sliders then it would affect all plugins/sliders everywhere, which it doesn't.
