Question Thoughts of my new DAW before I buy it?

Hi guys! I've finally decided to follow my dream and start a digital nomad life, traveling from one country to another every month or two while working and composing from home. Since my current DAW is everything but portable, comes the day to get a portable subtitute that is not a laptop! *confetti explosion goes here*

Use of PC: experimental classical composition, film scoring and music production (Reaper, Kontakt, terabytes of fine orchestral VSTs and samples). I don't intend to do any recording (I leave that to recording studios).

Requirememnts: portable on a carry-on backpack; on a budget; low latency.

* Case - Fractral Design Node 202
* Motherboard - Asus ROG STRIX B460
* CPU - i3-10320 @ 3.8 GHz
* Memory - 1x32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
* Storage - 250 GB (SSD) + 2T (HDD—mounted in GPU compartment)
* Graphics - no dedicated graphics card (integral UHD Graphics 630)
* Sound card - Scarlett Solo G3
* Portable MIDI controller (piano + MW + a couple knobs or so) - clueless. Help me out please!
* Power supply - Fractal Design Power Supply 500W (SFX-L)
* Screen - Dell U2410F (calibrated 24" IPS monitor)

What do you guys think? is it going to work and serve me well for the years to come?

Thanks!

How are you planning to hear things? Am I right that there's no headphone jack on that card?

I have one of these as my desktop 'something to prod' keyboard. Seems fine, maybe it or its big brother would fit the bill.

That's what I hoped to discover this evening, they state everywhere that it comes with a headphone jack, but where is that enigmatic thing hiding? Looking forward to ask the store tomorrow morning!

Thanks for the iRig recommendation! I saw the Native Instruments M32 Micro fills in the gap between the iRig Keys 2 Mini and iRig Keys 2 beautifully, and for a price tag that I can live with. Not sure about NI's build quality nowadays though. My AK1 sound card was plain garbage!

It's all in the manual at the product page

Line and Headphone Outputs

The MAYA44 eX stereo line outputs (OUTPUT 1/2 and
OUTPUT 3/4) can be connected to external devices with
line input such as multi track recorders, a HiFi stereo
system, active monitoring speakers, a power amplifier or
analog mixing consoles. As the two stereo output pairs
are totally independent, they can be connected to
different channel of a mixer or to different devices
altogether and different audio signals can be sent out to
them simultaneously. This is especially nice in situations
where you need two independent stereo signals, for
example in a DJ setup for the main and pre-listen signal.

In addition, both stereo line outputs can be enabled used
as headphone outputs.

Pedantry. Your proposed setup is still (trans)portable even without batteries!

I copped out & went with a laptop and a RME Babyface, fwiw

Thanks guys! I decided to go with a Scarlett Solo G3 instead. Super trusted card, modern interface, plus small and solid build for traveling. I think that's it! I could go on planning for weeks, but it's time for some music!
