Hi there!
Happy to donate a thanks for anyone willing to create this! I'm an Airwindows Console (summing emulation) user. I've created track templates (see below), but they are created without a name and it's a pain to keep everything organised.
Track creation method (simple routing):
1) Create two tracks, send the first track to the second (it will automatically be set to post fader). Clear the Master send check box on the first track. Audio is now going through the send to the second track and that track is sending to the master. On the second track add the ConsoleChannel plugin, emulating a post fader insert.
2) Highlight both tracks. Open track manager, and on the second track clear the MCP/TCP dots to hide it from view. Go to View -> Track and select 'Save tracks as track templates'. Save as '01'.
3) Bind a shortcut to the 'SWS load track template 01' action.
-----
Easy enough, but every time you create a new track they have no names. Fine for the visible, but the hidden post fader send tracks without names are a pain to maintain. Hence the request!
TL;DR;
Is there a way to create a script that launches a simple popup for entering the track name, then runs the SWS script passing this name through to name the new tracks? <TrackName> and <TrackName>-Hidden perhaps?
I hope that makes sense. It would be amazing for workflow!
