More details would be required to give much help.

Are you saying Reaper isn't seeing vstplugins you have installed? If so where did you install them?, are you sure they're right versions for your o/s? Is Reaper looking at the correct path?

Give as much detail as you can.

Did you INSTALL the plugins, not just, I dunno, drag a bunch of DLLs from one machine to another, then try to use them in Reaper?

What "folder"? What is the path you installed them in, assuming you installed them?

If installed correctly, did you check to make sure that path is listed in Reaper?

i keep it in a folder called "Vst-Plugins". these are the files i have in it
dexed 0.9.6-win.dll
obxd.dll
OB-Xd 3.so (didn't know if i needed a .dll or .so so i added this one in there)

Odin2.so
Upright Piano.Dll

are you supposed to do something else other than just download them from the internet and put them in a folder?

Most modern VSTs require INSTALLATION of the instrument. You tell it where you want to INSTALL it. Many default to something like C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 or C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg, etc.

If you created the folder "vstpPlugins", then you need to let reaper where the VST's are.

FYI,
Plugins are installed to your operating system. Not installed to a DAW app! They become an available resource to any installed audio app that can use them. Like Reaper DAW.

So your previous DAW may have had some proprietary built-in plugins. Or someone else installed something for you. Reaper, for example, includes some proprietary vst-like plugins.

Some plugins are in fact dragged and dropped into an OS Library/Audio folder. Some are more complex installs that use an installer script or app. Follow their install instructions. Keep track of any authorization codes you get for paid plugins.

Let them install in the default OS folder. Don't move the mountain! You'd just have to screw around and manually link things.
