Default Audio device input/output selection is confusing (Reaper for Linux)

The drop-down list box for the audio device input and output fields in Reaper for Linux won't "drop down" unless a person clicks on the little arrow on the far right. If you put the cursor in the box, it's as though it expects text input.

There have been several cases on the Reaper for Linux forum where this has caused confusion, including today. People assume after choosing a device driver type (ALSA, Jack) that there are "no options to choose from" because they clicked inside the box and nothing happened.

Those input and output fields don't seem to pick up a default option, either. So they start off blank, and a person needs to click on the little arrow on the right of the field specifically or they just assume their device hasn't been found.

Default

Yes, I have the same experience.

Also, maybe the first audio device from the list could be automatically pre-selected by default when run first time after installation. (I use it also in live linux environments so then it's always "the first time"
