You can.
You can either do it from the Reaper Media Explorer: CTRL+ALT+X
Or from Windows explorer into Reaper.

Someone on the Facebook group was recently having the same issue. Don't think they found a solution.

hmmmm.... very strange... never even heard of that before now..
It sounds like a problem in a particular windows system...
I wonder if it is true for other programs or just reaper???
for instance, can you drag and drop a jpeg onto Irfran view or other image viewer?

Any chance you have Reaper running as admin?
In this case d'n'd from explorer/desktop doesn't work.

I probably should have added I am using Windows 7, not sure if that is relevant or not.

As Nofish said, Windows will not allow this if you run Reaper as admin.
Unless you install an alternative explorer and run that as admin too.

^^ Or run Windows explorer also in admin mode (which is not recommended for security reasons though, afaik.)

Sorry, out of the loop for a few days. Thanks for the replies.
Yes I do run as admin - an old linux habit. I'd never thought of that- well spotted!
cheers
