Default unwanted plugin UI pop up on fx open

I tried some keywords.. but nothing came up.
If this is a known, or well known issue please
advise me where to find the solution..

Otherwise..is there some setting that is causing this? It gets tiresome to have to close a gui box
that I had no interest in in the first place. I do hope there is a fix for this fx dialog behavior,
and I am just missing something.

I'm not sure that I understand what you're saying, could you explain the problem in more detail please with specific examples? For example, is it the same unwanted plug-in every time? Can you post a screen shot?

Otherwise, all I can think of is that in the FX window you might have accidentally defined an FX chain as a default for new tracks.

Is it possible you mean you'd like to uncheck the option "Preferences - Plug-ins - Auto-open FX add dialog when opening empty track FX chain"?

or perhaps you're talking about bridged plugins?

Good call ... I reckon that's most likely it!

If it's a 3rd party plugin displaying some nag, warning or error dialog, there isn't anything Reaper can do about it. You should check the plugin's settings, installation, licensing etc are properly configured. edit : You should really explain what kind of GUI box you are seeing and does it happen with every plugin...

What you're possibly seeing are GUIs that you have clicked away from, rather than closed with the 'x'. They become hidden and reappear next time you open any other plugin.

Just x out, rather than clicking away.

I think you hit on it... but I will monitor to confirm and drop
back in after trying a few times.. thanks for the reply.. maybe I was
just "clicking away". This is kind of a default behavior perhaps from being
a long time jaded Windows user where most alerts just slow you down and often
are not guiding you in any useful direction..so... click away..

It's not a nag..but thanks for helping to brainstorm all the same..
@Xenakios...

@matt_t don't recall any involvement of fx chain...
