Default Help: Lock tempo map to audio

Hi guys, does anybody know how to lock your tempomap to the audio?
I have a complex tempomap that I want to make into a constant tempo.

What I do now:
Timebase is set to position, length, rate.
Then I delete the tempo envelopes to make it in an equal tempo.

My problem:
It stretches the whole track, in stead of between the envelope points. Visually the grid looks fine, but it is not in sync with the audio.
Downbeats are not where they should be, because it stretched the whole track instead of specific beats/bars.

Thanks as always!

Actually for the audio to stretch the same way that midi does when you delete tempo markers.

In this case Reaper probably needs to know where the corresponding measures are. Add stretch markers at the same positions as the tempo markers/tempo map points are. If you now remove or change one point, the audio stretches with the grid. But I'm not sure if this helps already.

midi items have no problem with that, because Reaper knows where bars 1 and 2 are. Audio items have no measures so ...

Yes, you are right there.
That's why my question; is there a way to lock the tempomap to the audio?

As I mentioned: With time stretch markers. Place them exactly where the tempo markers/map points are on your audio item.

I have no idea what you mean with tempo map. As long as its a tempo envelope or some tempo markers, the way I described should work.

If the project tempo and the audio item are already synced, you have to tell where Reaper has to stretch the audio when changing the tempo. For that you place stretch markers on the audio item(s) exactly where the tempo markers/envelope points are. That's quit easy and quick by placing the edit cursor and pressing shift+w. (don't forget to select the audio item!)

I tried it and it works like a charm :-)
I saw there is also a script out there which adds stretch markers at envelope points.

Another problem solved.
Thanks!
