Create pooled copy of AUDIO item
Not sure if this can already be done, but I don't think so. I think the pooled copy of an item relates only to MIDI items, not Audio items.
If I'm placing a bunch of snare audio items for example in my arranger, I'd like the ability to create pooled copies of each hit so that if I adjust the position of one item, all others in the same relative beat position will also be adjusted.
It makes for allowing fine adjustments to be made to taste, when not using a sequencer to drive the sequence.
Another way this function can be achieved at present is by selecting all the items in the same relative beat position and creating an item group from them. But this is not practical as you would first have to select each individual item across your project that you want to be adjusted together when you adjust one.

search for the "propagate" in actions. This will help you to copy adjustments to all similar items in track or in all project.

+1 pooled audio items would be great that could pool take envelopes and strech markers as well!

If you consider a single audio-clip only you can do a pooled copy. Changes of
this audio-clip can be transfered by "propagating".

If you consider a whole set of audio-clips, which have certain relative
positions and fades, there is NO easy way to have all these pool-copied
together as a "set".
The problem is discussed here with some pictures.

Hey Kenny. Thank you for your helpful and informative vids.
Item grouping could technically work, but bear in mind a typical use for pooled audio items - a vocal (or any) comp. Say you have items A, B, C and D, one after the other on a track forming your vocal comp. When this is copied and pooled then a fade/tuning adjustment to item 'B' should also only effect item 'B' on the corresponding pooled item, so grouping the whole lot wouldn't work.
You could technically get around this by manually grouping all corresponding items from the original comp the copied one (A to A, B to B etc), but you'd have to do it post copy, one by one, so it's not a simple workaround, especially for a long and complex multitrack drum comp, for example.
What would be very cool would be something like 'live' subprojects. I'm imagining a feature where we could wrap a group of items up as a subproject (just like we can now) but instead of opening in a new tab, it opens docked (or floating) WITHIN the current project. This subproject is running 'live', so it doesn't need to be rendered before updating it's copies, you can copy this subproject 'item' across the timeline to wherever you need it, and any changes made to one will automatically be made to the all other copies too, just like a pooled audio item. However this would be more flexible then a pooled audio item, because a pooled/live subproject could contain multiple tracks and complex routing chains. The only disadvantage compared to current 'offline' subprojects is that you lose the CPU gain from taking those tracks offline, but the workflow boost could be immense.
EDIT: I just noticed your response was to a specific query Kenny, and you weren't suggesting item grouping could do the work of pooled audio items. My bad.

Item grouping only works by assigning existing items to a group. I want the ability to create a pooled 'copy', and every time that item gets pasted after that, it will always be part of that pool. (just like pooled MIDI copies, or automation items)

Has anyone tried out the new pooled audio items in studio one? Looks pretty cool. You can have numbered versions of an item..
V1, V2 etc etc then any changes made to v1 happen across all instances.
Would love to see that in Reaper

There is an FR very similar to this.
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=205643
I like to call it "meta-items", that reflects its sense. Such meta-items should have own takes and fx chain. Also render to new take function, which replaces multi item source to one new item source.

+1 Logic has had this forever: clip aliases
I'm extremely surprised this doesn't exist in Reaper...

And we need to remember:
For repetitive structures, we necessarily need these "pooled audio-boxes" .
And music everywhere and always consists of repetitive parts.

Currently working on a script that does this along with container item functionality ... keep an eye out!

+1 would love pooled audio items and a pooled "item box" feature. I love of the description of a "live subproject"

You guys are gonna love my script. I took an old incomplete script from six years ago and am fixing the bugs. It has audio item pooling by default, and is an item container that can be nested in more item containers... really cool project that never quite saw the light of day BUT NOW IT WILL

I released this! It's called Superglue. Any copies of Superitems automatically update when any member of the pool is edited. Link in sig
