Default Making MIDI notes audible when selecting groups of notes in the piano roll

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a noob question but since it's my first post and since I am new to Reaper (though not to using DAWs), I figured I'd post it here. How do I make it so that the individual MIDI notes are audible as I am selecting a group of MIDI notes in the piano roll view? If you left-click on a single MIDI note in the piano roll, it plays that note, but when you right-click (I use a track pad so it's actually the two-finger click for me) and select several MIDI notes at once, they don't ring out. Is it possible to make it so that they are audible?

In Logic and Ableton the default setting is to hear them in this way so I'm used to it being this way. I'm a former Logic user and briefly used Ableton. Right now I'm using Reaper and Pianoteq and loving both of them.

I am new to Reaper, as I mentioned, so I’m not familiar with using the mouse modifiers yet, but maybe there’s a way to do this with them-?

You can drag the red play cursor at the top.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot.
