hey. i try and only works in the arrange view, but you need to set the mouse modifiers and assign the middle button to the contextual toolbar you want.

Contextual menus are not working with a docked MIDI editor with focus.
I have to click outside of MIDI editor to transport or arrange or something else, then hover mouse back over MIDI editor to get any MIDI popup toolbars.

This is not the correct behavior. How can I fix this please?

It does not matter float or docked I can confirm. I must defocus MIDI editor regardless in order to have ANY contextual toolbars appear for MIDI editor. This is frustrating when working in heavy MIDI conditions.

Thank you!

Hmm, I assume there's nothing you can do to fix that. Might have been an oversight by Breeder, who coded it.

And Breeder's not coding SWS anymore, nor is he using Reaper actively any longer...

Thanks for the heads up ED. Wishful thinking.

There's a new SWS version on Landoleet which works with dev817.

i have had unpredictable behavior with contextual toolbars for a while, and finally found out why:

if you have AI in the media lane with background envelope disabled, and if you -

1 - move mouse cursor vertically over an empty track area while triggering "SWS/BR: Exclusive toggle contextual toolbar under mouse cursor, preset [n]"

2 - you will see that the "envelope" context gets triggered at the position where the last envelope point existed, even though there is no envelope context under mouse cursor.

see this. you can tell the "envelope" toolbar by the "move on/move off" text, and the "arrange" toolbar by the grid options.

It's part of the SWS "package". If you have SWS installed, it's there!

Do i need to create every toolbar from scratch or it's possible to download and import "ready-to-go pack"?

With reaper 7 we have 32 toolbar in the main window.
But the sws contextual toolbars is limited to 16.

Is it possible to add the 16 toolbars ?

Thank you

I can't figure out how to download this. The official version is 2.12.1.3, and I can't find the prereleases.

Also, why is the official version so old (2 years)?

Hi all, I'm recently having some strange behavior with contextual toolbars.

I set two different contextual toolbars for the track lanes and the envelope lanes. Now if I have the mouse pointer inside the track lane it often triggers the envelope toolbar and I have the right one only after a few attempts.

It happens also if I extend the height of the track, only if I extend it a lot it stops happening. I'm sure it is dependent on the position of the cursor on the track lane relative to the envelope lane of the same track or the previous one. I remember that some time ago it behaved correctly though, regardless of where I placed the pointer in the track lane.

I don't know from what Reaper version is started but I'm sure is an iteration of the version 7. I have the last one installed.

Is there someone else that is facing the same problem?

Do you have track spacers enabled anywhere in the project? Those aren't supported and cause SWS to miscalculate the position of tracks and track elements. SWS 2.14 in a few days will solve that.

Yes I have a lot of track spacers. I was pretty sure they was the cause, I was just look at them with a growing question mark in my brain.

Thank you for the clarification.

Will SWS 2.14 be the next official release? If this is the case I could avoid installing the beta version and wait for that.

We can't make official releases so it will be "beta" in quote marks. At this point the 2.12 "stable" release is in fact the unstable one. The current 1-year-old "beta", 2.13.2, has 0 known regressions compared to many bugfixes.

A few weeks after release, 2.14 will similarly either be safe to consider stable, or there will be a 2.14.0.X release to fix issues that got reported.

There's also a good chance it will make its ReaPack debut, if that goes through we'll be able to mark them as stable there once they got enough testing time. Just not on the sws-extension.org homepage.

Ok thank you for the clarification, then I will install the 2.13.2 while I wait for the 2.14.

Great to hear about ReaPack, will it be a flawless installation over the actual installed one or will it be necessary to uninstall and install it again over it? I'm pretty sure about the first one but who knows.

If the dll/dylib/so is in the standard <resource directory>/UserPlugins, then yes ReaPack will smoothly take over.

(If installed to a non-standard location (<REAPER install dir>/Plugins), then the old one would have to be deleted. SWS warns if two copies try to load at the same time.)

Hi cfillion, I installed the latest SWS beta version from Reapack but I still have the same bug with contextual toolbars.

I noticed that if I have the pointer in the lower portion of the track it opens the right toolbar, in the upper one it opens the envelope toolbar. The opposite happens in the envelope lane.

Am I doing something wrong?

Can you send a RPP with just the tracks (don't need FX or media) so I can try locally?

But first, just to rule it out, did you restart REAPER after installing the SWS update?

Yes of course, I restarted the computer too.

I'm trying to send you a private message but nothing happens, do you have the pm locked?

The tracks in my template are locked by default, I have a custom action to unlock them, bring the fx online and show the envelopes I use.

You can try it manually if you want.

Let me know how I can send you my template.

EDIT

I tried a new blank project with a few tracks, visual spacers and visible envelopes and it seems to work, so it is something with my template. But I don't understand what could I have done to break the CT. Maybe too much visual spacers? Too much tracks? Too much hidden tracks? Aside from these things I don't know where the fault could it be. If I click on the upper part of the track it selects the upper track envelope, this is why it opens the envelope toolbar. Of course no problem in the tracks without env in the same template. The behavior is exactly the same I had before this last update, like nothing changed after the update.

PMs should be open, but if for some reason that doesn't work you can send by email: .

Ok, I just sent you the email with the link.

In the meantime I found another thing, it seems to happen only on the last tracks (the strings) where I use the envelopes. If I try to do it with envelopes in the first tracks it doesn't happen.

I'm using also some hidden fixed lanes, could it be the issue?

EDIT

I did another test in my template and it seems to work fine, before I tried in a project I'm currently working on and the problem is present. The project is based on the template of course. As I said I used fixed lanes in a pair of tracks in the project. Aside from that it is the same thing as the template, only with a lot of midi items and stuff of course.

Thanks! Spacers on hidden tracks were not taken into account. Can you try with this build to be sure there isn't anything else?

https://github.com/reaper-oss/sws/pu...ent-1941953300

(It also fixes some issues with fixed lanes, but I doubt that's what you were having unless your "Visual track spacer size" setting is more than a track's height.)

Thank you cfillion for your hard work. I did some clicks here and there at various heights and in various points of the tracks and the envelopes and now everything seems to work fine.

I'll keep working on the project and let you know if I find something else (at least for the sws functions I use).
