Default Core2Duo machine???

Thinking about upgrading from my P4 2.6Ghz with 1GB RAM...
I'm not all that knowledgable about hardware though...

Does anyone have any opinions/experience with the E6600 Core2Duo with the ASUS P5B Mobo and 2 GB Patriot DDR800 C4 RAM?

Also any suggestions of a dual head video card...

Is going quad core worth it, or too expensive relative to the increased performance over dual core at the moment?

thanks,
Rich

I upgraded to E6600 Core2Duo with the ASUS P5B Mobo and 2 GB Corsair RAM about a month ago. Best thing I ever did...

A projects that used to used 70% on my AMD Athlon 3.2, now only uses 8% of the CPU, Amazing !

I also have the Asus P5B, but with an E6400.

Nice thing is that the motherboard takes all the 775 chips, so when the Quad Core's hit the Sub-$300 range (and they will eventually) I can pop one in for a very cheap and very large upgrade.
