Default Antares Auto-Tune vs. Celemony Melodyne - Which do YOU like better?

I am interested in getting one of these two plugins and just wanted to know from anyone with firsthand experience with either one or both and ask you to please offer your honest opinion of them.

For me, I am not a trained musician. I like to sing and just wanted to know which one you think that a total beginner could learn the easiest?

I think before deciding (and get decent advice) you should wait until both (and Reaper) officially feature ARA2, so that you see the full integration with Reaper.

I use both.

Melodyne isn't able to create vibrato or smoothly ramp up or down between 2 notes. The user interface is easy to use and you can quickly change a note's timing and pitch.

Auto-Tune allows you to draw the pitch and vibrato, so you can ramp notes up and down and add vibrato to the tails of notes, so they sound natural and not stepped and robotic.

If Melodyne could draw vibrato and draw ramps up and down between notes, it would be the best pitch correction tool available, IMHO.

Ive had both for 10 years or more.
AutoTune is the one I continue to use,
while Melodyne just gathers dust
