Default Best mixer controller for Reaper - Faderport ?

I have been trawling the sites and Youtube for the best DAW controller that would work well with Reaper and I have seen the FaderPort 8 and FaderPort 16 seem to be excellent. Can anyone recommend them ?

Have you looked at Console 1 and Fader...it is really really good. The SSL plugin that comes with Console 1 is their best C1 plugin also. If you have any questions about it I can answer anything. I'm sure the Presonus Faderport is great, they make great products but I've been super happy with C1.

I'd go with the Behringer X-Touch Universal frankly.

There was some recent discussion here:

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I will look into them. I do have a 20 year old Yamaha AW4416 with 16 automated faders but the fan is so noisy its not worth firing up which is a shame. Still sounds stunning though when you play back recordings.

I used the Yamaha 01v96 as a control surface with other DAWs but it became outdated and then I switched to Reaper.

There are a lot of articles on fixing or removing the fan that I found....have you searched the web? It seems if you are on the verge of replacing it who cares if you break it trying to fix it...especially if you love it.

Im not replacing it as I haven't used it in years. You can't fire up the AW4416 without the fan otherwise it will overheat.

The Faderport 16 works well in Reaper. I'm quite happy with mine.

Thanks. Do you like the feel of the faders, are they smooth ?
