Default MIDI Learn Issue with VST3 - Solved

Edit:
I changed to Overloud's TH-U from Neural for my Guitar plugin. Following the guidance on Overloud's HOW TO SEND MIDI TO A PLUGIN IN A DAW overloud.com/node/166 I was able to the foot pedal to work the available MIDI controls.

1. Create your track with plugin.
2. Create another track with input from your device, record monitoring on and arm record.
3. Route the pedal track to the guitar/plugin track
All works as desired.
End Edit:

I'm attempting to control the VST3 Archtype Cory Wong (Neural Plugin) with my new HoTone Ampero Control 4 button bluetooth MIDI controller.

The native VST Midi mapping doesn't appear to do anything. Using the Reaper Param learn will only shut off the pedal (testing trying to toggle a pedal). Only PC seems to work so it doesn't appear to allow you to use the CC Mode of toggle.

Bringing the VST up in stand alone mode enables expected MIDI mapping functions to work as expected.

Setting the controller buttons to toggle Play/Stop, Record Arm/Disarm and Record/Stop is nice (simple foot pedal transport controls for guitar) and works great with Reaper.

Any recommendations?

What OS ?

Midi over Bluetooth is a hard issue in Windows.

The thing also supports Midi over USB. You might want to try this first.

Do you see any Midi signals from the controller anywhere in Reaper ?

@mschnell

OS is Win 10.

I am using MIDI over USB.

The controller/stomp (Ampero Control) works great for transport controls (play/stop...) in Reaper.

The controller/stomp just won't completely work in the VST3 plugin.

I just tested my KeyBoard controller (Arturia Essentials 61) and it works great for knobs or pads to control items in the VST.

Must be something with the Ampero stomp. Wondering if I'm missing a setting or something.
