Yeah even though still new, I am finding windows apps with actual .exe install files seem to work in the main....forget and I mean TOTALLY forget those that install via online installers. Haven't come across one yet that works.

My mistake was not realising early enough that I'd ever swap to linux and not downloading and saving all those .exe files.

At the mo it's possible to get them as "legacy" and even then after some haranguing of the support staff haha! (although IK seem to include "older" versions in the downloads) - but all the new versions are strictly via online install - well that's what I have been led to believe.

At any rate, I am going to follow Glennbo's advice and gradually get myself weaned of ALL windows apps and go native!

I've always been a pack rat burning CD/DVD copies of every .exe I found useful, usually ones I bought.

The only Windows plugins I use on a regular basis at this point are Kontakt and Superior Drummer 2. Everything else is native Linux, and Superior is only used as a temporary placeholder until real acoustic drums are recorded.

Are you be able to drag and drop grooves from SD2 into Reaper?

There is a script somewhere in this group for EZ-Drummer that addresses the issue. The problem is that SD2 and EZD drop the midi clip on the virtual C: drive, and REAPER expects to find it on the real real Linux drive. The script copies the file to the place where REAPER is looking.

I never messed with it coz I don't use the grooves, but if you search this forum for EZ-Drummer issues in Linux, it should come up.

In ReaPack it's named "Insert most recent exported file..." by Lokasenna.

https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2030985

You can set the options for it how you want, and then have it create a custom action automatically to bring in the MIDI file (based on where your mouse cursor is, or the edit cursor, etc.)
