Realogix Theme
Realogix is a mod of the beautiful Prologix by albertxxx. It's not quite finished yet, but I thought I'd share my progress to get some feedback.
Using the new theme adjuster features (v6.16) you can control various aspects of the theme, e.g. the position and behavior of the tcp fxlist (see GIF).
Download the theme here.
For Linux users there's also a libswell theme (check out the looks of the media explorer in the picture below). To install it, place the file in your resource directory and restart reaper.
Current issues: (I'll add stuff here) - Missing master track tcp
- Selected tiny MIDI notes are not visible
Enjoy

looks really cool! Is there a darker, less colorful version?
If not, no worries just asking
I'm gonna use this for a bit.
MY midi editor doesn't look quite as good as yours tho
I REALLY wish we could figure out a way to implement the tcp layouts in other themes, too. But this is probably the only other theme I would use besides the default or dark theme I found.

Love this theme (and your scripts)! Is there any way to get access to volume and pan in the TCP's most minimized position?

Even if I'm not a fan of the theme, I think it's awesome that you've modded the theme to work with the theme adjuster! Most exellent! This has to be the first custom theme that does, right?! Two thumbs up!

Maybe try out the color controls in the theme adjuster. I'm impressed though that you want it darker, haha What's wrong with your MIDI editor?

I recently created a custom layout in a different theme that does: name, mute, solo, volume fader (should maybe be a knob), pan knobs, narrow vertical meter. All at 32 pixels high. Allows for very compact mixing via the TCP which some people like.
I dig this theme and may make a lighter variation of it using theme adjuster with higher contrast for text and less dark backgrounds. Maybe larger track and mcp ID fonts. My only layout related feedback so far is:
I wish the mcp FX list slots got more vertical space when using dual pans. Seeing at least four or five FX slots is important.
I wish the transport controls are centered or an alternate layout for that. I'm on an ultra wide monitor and the middle of the transport is pretty much empty. I keep it docked at the bottom and like having the transport buttons and time roughly centered.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! with a knob preferably. until i get to the mixing stage, i like to stay completely on the TCP with my midi editor on a separate 15" monitor, avoiding screensets altogether

Thanks, that's really useful feedback!
I'll try to make the transport obey the "center transport controls" preference.
Funny you said at least four or five FX slots, since that was exactly what I was going for. I just realized though that this currently only works nicely when you group sends etc. with fx. I'll definitely have to fix that. I'm assuming you don't have them grouped?

I'll look into adding a mixing oriented option for narrow tcp tracks. I'll probably replace the route with pan and record/monitor with a volume knob.

[ EDIT: added mockup of pan change to bottom of post]
@ FeedTheCat
nice changes.
good to see someone continue Albert's work on this.
RE: more space for the MCP FX List
If you change the Pan knobs to sliders you can free up a lot of space that that can then be used to expand the FX List.
This may be difficult if Albert has created them with his usual hack.
Are you using the v1_pre3.1 or the pre_2 (public) version?

If you mean the new theme adjuster feature for old themes that was just released, then probably.
If you mean using the theme adjuster in general, then no.

I like the idea of having the pans as horizontal faders.
I'd also add that a lot of us probably keep a docked FX Browser these days or just have the browser shortcut in muscle memory (or on a control surface) so having an "Insert" button on the mixer adds no value at all to me personally. I'd suggest eliminating the button entirely to free up more space on the mcp.

Loved this one, but is it intended to the Theme Adjuster show only global settings? I cant adjust TCP or MCP settings like other themes.
Thanks in advance!

@lucas_LCS
Wow, thx for the mockup!
It took 2 hacks but I managed to make it happen... If there's enough space they will convert to knobs.
Still have to resize the knob_stack, which might take some time... What I don't like about it yet is the label... Seems a bit wrong to only show one.

Is it possible to make send list to also follow the same rules regarding stretching and appearing in more rows like inserts?

I agree for the most part, but I don't think removing it completely is a clean solution as well. Even if it's only for bypassing the chain...

Yes, the theme adjuster won't work like it does for the default v6 theme (and themes based on that). But you do get access to a few settings, like the position of the TCPFX list. (See GIF in first post).

In the TCP you can currently only show sends and fx if you have them grouped together. Not sure if that answers your question.

I`m aware of this. But, this is not possible to arrange in a nice way.
What I would like is to have disabled option Show send in TCP and use Sendlist.
Now Sendlist should appear in more columns just like inserts.

you could just remove it until there's enough room for it.
I would move the Pan slider into it's position until you have the room for it.
That would let you drop everything down a bit more as well.
The slider gives visual indication of the position, so it's not really needed.
RE: removing the FX Insert button
I agree it should be there if only for the Bypass function.
You could make a stripped down or minimal layout for those that don't need all the buttons.
Hopefully, that won't be a can worms.....

Food for thought...what about potentially putting the insert/bypass above the FXList when there's enough room? It would require a bit of a visual redesign for that button, but saves space because you don't need the vertical margin above and below the Insert button as you do where it's currently located. It would also visually group the items together so from top to bottom you'd have:
FX Insert/Bypass
Inserts
Sends...
Anyway, just a suggestion for FTC. Might work, might be better reasons against.

Something like this? I had it similar to this at some point but then changed it. I felt like it was cluttering up the view of the fx (when there's a lot of them), making it harder to visually distinguish them etc. It's definitely a good idea, but it would need a viusal rework of the button.
I made some changes that you might like though, the Insert now only shows at a much higher height.

Having the button show up at a higher height sounds like a great usability improvement.
But yeah, I was thinking something like that indeed. If you were to go that route, I agree it would benefit from a visual rework of the button for that approach to really gel. For instance, iLogic v3.8 has a nice power button on the left, and a + icon on the right with the word FX in the middle. Very clear, and something like that at the top of the insert bin that almost seems part of it, might look nice. But those things tend to be more effort to pull off than they are for some guy on a forum to describe. lol
I look forward to seeing the progress wherever you ultimately land. I think I'm seeing more contrast on the text in those more recent screen prints, which I dig.
Small thing: do you think it might look better with slightly less wide fader caps? I'm not even suggesting a different image, but maybe having them just a few pixels less wide would look a little more sleek and less bulky? I'm thinking 4px less wide in total would probably do the trick.

I really love this theme, but I've become very accustomed to making as I go volume and pan tweaks on the TCP, with minimized tracks. I could throw some $ if anyone could modify this theme to include a volume KNOB, and the ability to pan, preferably knob as well, in its most minimized state. The only other things I need access to are Mute/Solo/RecordArm/RecMon/meters.
Thanks again FTC for this great theme.

- Added TCP mix mode option: Show volume and pan at smallest track height.
- Added MCP dual pan sliders
- Various MCP height & color adjustments

Mix mode is awesome! Thanks!
Very minor thing that we can probably fix ourselves: The snap enabled button, and many of the buttons, have very little visual difference between on and off. It'd be nice if they turned a purple similar to the Metronome and Crossfade enabled buttons. It's nice to be able to see out of the corner of my eye whether snapping is enabled or not.
Thanks again!

Another small suggestion, and it's easy enough to adjust in RTConfig that I can probably manage it myself: centering the text on the inserts. Left justified text always just feels wrong to me on insert bins. If you happen to agree of course...

Nice to hear. I might fix the toolbars at some point down the line.

I just changed it. Not yet sure if I prefer it though. I might set it as default in the next version or give an adjuster option.
