Default Reverb Send in Mix

Curious to know if anyone has tips, tricks, or rules of thumb (besides using one's ear) with regard to setting the level of a reverb send in relation to the level of a bus containing the dry sound. I am thinking specifically of using a reverb send for drums and balancing the level of the send track with that of the drum bus, containing the dry signal. Thanks!

Set the send level while the full mix is playing, not with the part solo'd. Automate the send depending on what other elements are going on in the mix at any time.

Other than that, it is all down to your taste and what type and level of reverb feels right for you.

Hmm... it depends. I usually mute the dry sound and bring the reverb up until it sits well in the mix. Then I de-mute the dry sound and check the level relationship between dry and reverb.
