Default Which is best wine 32 bit version for Reaper in Ubuntu 18.04?

After updating to 64 bit Ubuntu 18.04 somehow

wine --version
wine-5.8 (Staging)

is pulling too much cpu, while using 32bit win version of Reaper. So which other wine version should I try instead, any tips? Thanks in advance. I thought I will post this bestly in linux section as it is linux related.

Then how and which version of winasio I should install? (As a second question)

I'm running the 64 bit version of Xubuntu 18.04 and use 32 bit wine-staging 4.12.1 from the WineHQ repository. I dunno how much CPU it is using for wine, but it's not bogging my 11 year old Intel i5 DAW down.

As for wineasio, I'm pretty sure that's only needed if you are going to run REAPER for Windows in wine. If you are running REAPER for Linux, use LinVST to bridge your Windows plugins.

Thanks for the tips, but how can I uninstall current wine version first?

Tried this:
sudo apt-get --purge remove wine

Answer is:
Virtuelle Pakete wie »wine« können nicht entfernt werden.
(translation: virtual packages like wine can not be removed)

So I would like to test your above given older wine version, how could I overwrite my newer 5.8 version? Yes I am currently using mainly the windows 32 bit version in wine 32 bit, later I can try LinVst style. Sometimes I am using the original linux version as well, just for experimenting. But there not all vst are available as I am not using the LinVst technique probably.

Most of that stuff is over my head. I've only been running Linux a year, but I originally had installed wine from the distro, and later added the WineHQ repository followed by something like sudo apt update, sudo apt upgrade or something that made it grab the files from WineHQ. I see it get updated now and then because wine takes forever to start after an update, and running WineTricks will re-ask the question about telemetry.
