Latency?

I am playing through a Line 6 Toneport UX2 and Gearbox. When I first start recording there is virtually no latency between when I play and when it is played back through the speakers. However, after about 30 sec of playing, the latency just kind of pops up and causes a delay. What is causing this problem?

anyway, you need asio drivers for, windows drivers won´ t work properly.

this could be caused by using two different devices that are running at slightly different rates... are you using the same device for input as output?

Input device is the Toneport and output device is my computer's sound card.

Yep. The TonePort and SoundMAX are going to have separate clocks. That will cause issues. Also, the SoundMAX may be running at 16 bits and Reaper is having to resample on the fly. That will definitely cause issues I would think.

Why not use the TonePort for in and out? Is it an input only effects box type of thing? I'm not familiar with it at all...
